When it comes to good friends, good food, and good beer, think Pies and Pints of Middlebury.
Pies and Pints, 1 Store Rd., Middlebury, attracts families and friends for a wide variety of reasons, not the least of which is the good food.
Each year, satisfied diners nominate the restaurant for its pizza, wings, and burgers, and those testimonials become “Best of” awards that are the pride of owners Theofilos “Theo” Anastasiadis and Chris Gogas.
The restaurants are consistently in the top 10 of draft craft beer choices because of the selection, which includes the restaurant’s very own Pies and Pints Pale Ale and the Bulldozer.
The full menu offers many delicious choices for lunch, dinner, and even brunch on Sundays.
In addition to traditional and gourmet pizzas or house made flatbreads, there are lighter dishes such as sandwiches or sliders. Those who want to really enjoy a full meal, for a special occasion or just to satisfy the taste buds, can find several tempting plates. Pies and Pints is part of a long tradition of good restaurants, which started with Jordan’s and now includes San Remo.

The patios at both locations are the perfect venue for summer dining and Middlebury’s al fresco space has been recently enhanced by a remodel of the adjacent dining room, which is open to the outdoor eating space.
The owners are always looking for ways to improve their customers’ experience. One example is the app they developed so hungry diners can place a take out order online, selecting anything from the large menu.
As much as the community comes together at Pies and Pints, the owners reach out to support the towns where they live and work. They organize the annual TaTa Trot 5K to raise awareness and funds for breast cancer research and feature new ways to enjoy an old beverage with events such as Brews by the Lake.
Embracing everyone, the local owners look forward to hosting teams from area schools, families still damp from a day at Lake Quassapaug, or a party celebrating a special occasion with a private event on premises.
A family restaurant that serves good food and great craft beers, Pies and Pints is open at 11 a.m., seven days a week, and the kitchen closes at 11 p.m. The bar is open late.
